The Granite State Libertarian Party was formed by New Hampshire Libertarians who wanted to build an organization centered on individual liberty, limited government, personal responsibility, and respect for the rights of others.
We believe people should have the freedom to live their own lives, make their own choices, and pursue their own goals without unnecessary government interference. We also believe that a strong political organization should be rooted in principle, community, and meaningful participation.
Who We Are
We are New Hampshire residents from different backgrounds who share a common belief that individuals should have greater control over their own lives.
Some of our members have been involved in Libertarian politics for years. Others are newer to the movement and are looking for a political home that reflects their values.
What brings us together is a commitment to liberty, personal responsibility, free expression, and the idea that government should be limited to protecting individual rights rather than directing how people live.
What We Believe
At the center of our philosophy is a simple idea: you should be free to live your life as you choose, as long as you respect the equal rights of others.
That principle shapes how we approach issues across government and public policy.
We believe in:
- Individual liberty and personal responsibility
- Limited and accountable government
- Civil liberties and freedom of expression
- Private property and voluntary exchange
- Equal treatment under the law
- Respect for individual choice
- Opposition to the initiation of force
Our Focus in New Hampshire
New Hampshire has a long tradition of independence, local control, and skepticism of unnecessary government power. We want to build on that tradition.
Our goal is to grow a strong and lasting Libertarian organization across the state — one that supports candidates, engages with voters, develops future leaders, participates in public policy discussions, and gives liberty-minded Granite Staters a place to get involved.
We also want to create an organization where members feel welcome to contribute their ideas, experience, time, and talents.
A Party Built by Its Members
The Granite State Libertarian Party is ultimately about people.
Our members are the foundation of the organization. They help shape our priorities, participate in committees and conventions, support candidates, organize events, volunteer in their communities, and help introduce Libertarian ideas to more people throughout New Hampshire.
We believe political organizations are strongest when members have a real voice and a meaningful role in their direction.
Looking Ahead
We are building for the long term.
That means growing our membership, strengthening our organization, supporting Libertarian candidates, communicating our ideas clearly, and becoming a consistent voice for liberty in New Hampshire.
There is a lot of work ahead of us, and we are excited about what we can build together.
